FAQ'S
What do I need to start using the Radio & Navigation Stack?
The Radio & Navigation Stack connects to the On Board Computer system (OBCS) through the included cable to one of its ports or to a cable splitter if no ports are available. You can use TOGA to interface with the simulation software.
Can I add a second Radio & Navigation Stack set?
Yes, you can connect up to four Radio & Navigation Stacks, which will be recognized as independent units.
How can I customize the frequency intervals?
The Radio & Navigation Stack is fully customizable. You can set the minimum, maximum, and increment values for each of the four instruments, and the stack will handle it automatically.
Can I use the Radio & Navigation Stack with other types of simulation software?
Yes, as long as the simulation software exposes meaningful data. You can create your own interface software using the SDK package or your preferred programming language to implement the NorAir Frame protocol.
Can I exchange messages with the Radio & Navigation Stack?
Yes, the TOGA software can facilitate this. You can also use the NorAir Frame protocol or the SDK package to build your own software for message exchange.
What kind of messages can be exchanged?
You can exchange instructions and configurations, as well as formatted numeric messages for display data.
Can I map and re-number the encoder push buttons?
Yes, the push buttons appear as joystick buttons and are fully configurable. For example, the transponder encoder push button can be used as squawk ident. However, the COMM and NAV encoder push buttons will still swap standby/active frequencies as an internal stack function.
Can I embed the Radio & Navigation Stack into my own frame?
Yes, you can embed it by unscrewing the stand foot lobe knob on each side and removing the stand foot for convenience.
